Setup

All the pre-installation configuration and setup is carried out by us, off site. This means that when you receive your system from us you will be able to enter compounds, usage and disposal records immediately, without the learning curve of the setup process.

To enable us to configure your system correctly we will send you a questionnaire asking for information regarding suppliers, isotopes, compounds, departments, storage, locations, disposal routes, licence limits, security levels, and certain other preferences.

The setup information can be re-installed at any time during a pilot or evaluation exercise in order to clean up the system ready for live use.

The setup can be tweaked as many times as necessary during any pilot to provide the best solution to your needs.

We carry out this work in order to make life easier for you. You can, of course, alter the setup at any time afterwards. Help with this is provided as part of your annual subscription.

Current data

We can also migrate data from your current system. This is performed using scripts so that it can be repeated during the evaluation, and ultimately overnight on the "go live" date so that the current system can be switched off and IsoStock simultaneously switched on, ready populated.

Where the current systems involve paper or a variety of formats, we can provide Excel spreadsheets to use as a transitional document. This allows the users to quickly update their records in a format for transfer into IsoStock as above.

Requirements

Client

Any PC running either Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, 32 or 64 bit.

IsoStock will run on any machine supporting the Windows platform.

IsoStock will run on any amount of RAM supporting the Windows platform.

The minimum screen resolution is 800x600 in at least 16 bit colour.

No software installation is necessary on the client. IsoStock will run directly from a network share.

For access from non Windows computers the client can also be run on Terminal Server, Citrix, other desktop sharing servers supporting Windows, or virtualised desktops supporting Windows.

Server

The IsoStock data can be placed on any server providing file services to the Windows network environment. The data can be accessed via a UNC or mapped drive. Users required to enter data must have at least Read/Write access to the data folder. Where you have more than one site and they are networked together, users will only be offered choices to view the other data if they have a valid physical connection to that server.

No further software needs to be installed or run on the server. IsoStock has no special network software / hardware requirements

The server install initially requires 15Mb plus another 10Mb for each year for a typical site usage.

Single user

In a single user setup the requirements are as of the Client. The data is kept within the installation on the client and would require a further 5Mb per year.

It is advisable that this installation is in a location that has a maintained backup policy. If your machine is not routinely backed-up it may be preferable to install onto a file server. This is acceptable within the licence, though must still be treated as a single user installation.
